Comment | I just had to buy it because of the name! And it
is a
surprisingly powerful unit that has everything needed in daily life.
There's
absolutely no indication where these units have been manufactured. I
took
one apart and found a circuit board with a single sealed chip. There was a company "Hermes-Precisa-Büromaschinenwerke GmbH", Säckingen, Germany. Also, there is a "Hermes Precisa International Holding", Nyon, Switzerland. Maybe one of them gave this unit away as a marketing gift. 20.3.2004: Markus Sigg informed me that the Zephyr is somewhat similar to the MBO Alpha 102 Solar. However, the MBO's forensic result is 8.99999798135 - this may be caused by 2 additional digits of precision. The second unit above is named "Highscreen Colani Calculus" where Highscreen is a German computer retailer. |
